Quid Pro Quo Rotator

Hi everyone 🙂

When I started planning TEO, my intention was to create not only an engaging reward site, but also a very useful site of tools that actually help community members and helps us help each other, to build our online businesses. We're all entrepreneurs. Whether we promote affiliate programs or our own sites.

I do have a small list of important features to work on first, such as a CMTE bridge and partner files so that other interested parties can also contribute and receive benefits from our community's building of tapestries. But then I want to add our tools. Not tools all over the show to confuse members, ones that people will really want and use. I have a list in mind, but I want to focus on them one at a time and get some feedback before going ahead.

First on my list, if the community agrees is a quid pro quo rotator. And this really does need community co-operation to work. If nobody is interested, there would be little point in making this.

Quid pro quo is a Latin expression meaning “something for something”, or more simply, “you do something for me, and I'll do something for you.”

And that's exactly the principle behind the rotator I have in mind. It's a straightforward hit-for-hit exchange by promoting the rotator on various sites. You bring a hit, you get a hit in return. It's like a co-op, but everyone is equal. Everyone who wants to participate adds a site (or sites if we do per member rotation). Everyone gets their unique link with a thin top frame that has their referral link in it.

But here's where I want ours to be a little different. We'd distinguish between unique and non-unique hits, so a unique hit earns a unique view in return. Every qualifying unique 24-hour hit earns a credit for a unique view, and that credit remains yours until the view can be delivered. The system will actively seek out and prioritise eligible unique viewers whenever unique-view credits are waiting to be delivered.

Every qualifying non-unique hit earns an ordinary hit in return.

Simple as that. For all community members, not only upgraded.

The intention is not to replace your other co-ops if you use them. Just provide a powerful extra tool to help extend your reach. With emphasis on the value of unique hits because this is where quality matters.

And yes, it's doable 😊

I would participate if you hardcode affiliate links into the toolbar or whatever you call it at the top.

Awesome Jimmy, yes, that's the plan 👍

Typically, for free members, you earn 0.5 credits for every credit delivered at your generic coop. As I understand it, I would add my rotator link on one or more TEs, allot credits for to circulate on this/these TEs and earn 1 credit for each member's site that receives 1 view; unique or not.

The benefits are it's a 1 to 1 ratio with unique hits, with an even more important goal of advertising the TEO site, in banner form, above the member's site being advertised. As is typical of rotators/coops.

Certainly I would use it. As it is, I am advertising the TEO site as is. Now I get to do that as well as any other legitimate site I choose. 2 for 1 ads at 1 to 1 ratio.

Only possible scenario, as you have inferred, is we must all be willing to use it. Not say yes now and disappear. I refer to the few referrals I have brought here. They sign up and surf under a hundred pages and then out of sight. Sure I get a % credit, but I don't want it if I refer ghosts. I imagine you will do an inactive member cleanup in time.

Finally, if you are going to commit to creating this rotator, your time should bear fruit. Although you cannot collect sworn affidavits of members who will use this, perhaps you can gauge the commitment level of members by introducing a new addition to this forum: a Poll. For this question and future ones. Some people hesitate when it comes to posting at the forum and others procrastinate. I, being the latter, am also afflicted with, once having started a post, unable to stop.

Hi Bill 😊

That's awesome! Then I'm even more motivated to do it. And I will also use it the same as the rest of us who do, though I'm more likely to advertise my rotator link in sites other than my own because I already have both the upgraded members' site rotator and a rotator of affiliate pages running in them. Everything that has a referral link for TEO attached that I promote selects from members who were active (not necessarily surfing) in the previous 24 hours, or at least as far as I am able to do that, and this will be the same for my own top bar. Of course I'm not here to earn my own rewards, so that % increase gained from referrals is not needed by me. Aside from that, I benefit from this as much as anyone with 1:1 and the unique link serving aspect.

How TEO is different, is that once a member is part of the community, they don't belong as much to an upline as they do to the whole community. The structure is this way on purpose, and some other ideas I have in mind to present to you in the near future, play into that idea even more. This is not to discourage promoting, but we're different to other programs that follow that stricter hierarchy.

For inactive members, I do get what you're saying, and this is common across sites. But I never clear inactive members. People benefit only when they're active in some or other way, whether through surfing, collecting rewards in partners, posting blogs etc - there are no surfing requirements here, it's just an option. But because we're always growing and trying to improve what we're offering to members, there is always that chance that the inactive might find a reason to come back if they're not inspired enough when they join.

Polls is an excellent idea and one that I do already have in mind. You're absolutely right when you say that not everyone wants to give a comment, but I think many more will be happy to contribute to an anonymous poll and check the results. I want to do it in such a way too, that even I can't identify who voted or said what, and be able to give that guarantee, so that nobody feels they should hold back, will see if I can. On the to-do-list it is, thank you 👍❤️
