CMTE: What Would Make You Use It?

I've been giving CMTE quite a bit of thought lately, and I've also been writing a blog post about where we started, what we've achieved, the difficulties we've faced, and where we go from here.

But there's something I really want to understand, and I'd love your help.

We've already created quite a few ways for members to use CMTE, yet I still see people choosing cash or Food Game Gold instead.

And I'm curious as to why!

Are you holding onto your CMTE because you believe it will be worth more in the future? Are cryptocurrency wallets putting you off? Or are we simply not offering enough things you'd actually want to spend it on?

Maybe there's something else entirely that we haven't considered.

I'm also looking at making it possible, for a limited period, to transfer accumulated CMTE directly from certain partner websites into your TEO Piggy Bank, without needing a cryptocurrency wallet. The idea is to give you another way to put your CMTE towards a TEO upgrade, at the market rate applicable when the transfer is processed. The details still need to be finalised.

But I'd love to hear your ideas too!

What would make CMTE more useful to you? What would you like to be able to do with it?

And please don't worry if you know very little about cryptocurrency. Sometimes the people who haven't used something can tell us the most about what's making it difficult!

I've got my own thoughts, of course, but I'd much rather hear yours than assume I know what everyone wants.

So, come on, CMTE community! Let's talk about it. ❤️

For me, the crypto wallet is easy enough to understand as you went over it with illustrations, step by step. If I can understand it, anyone can. I've been saving my CMTE for a monthly upgrade at Crypto TE and almost there at 95%. The rest I have been hoarding, feeling the price will go up as it is still in it's infancy. Now I am thinking whether to stop the upgrade at Crypto TE and use my combined earnings to upgrade here. But what is the cost in CMTE for an upgrade here? And would being here upgraded be better than at Crypto TE which is relatively austere although you have said you have new things to add there.

Paying in cash would be easy with PayPal which you do not have. And converting Canadian to US currency is pricey.

So I am not one to pay in cash. And, yes, I have been hoarding CMTE, anticipating an increase in value. But paying in CMTE for an upgrade here is something I never considered. Unlike the Crypto TE website, which shows you graphically how much you have earned each day, your other sites do not have this feature front and center.

Maybe use the Crypto TE " CMTE Earning Bar" on the front pages of your other programs so members can see their CMTE progress and opt in or out.

What else to buy with CMTE? All I can think of is upgrades. Reinvesting in the programs that one earns from.

This is exactly the kind of feedback I'm looking for, thank you Bill!

So, a little background on Crypto TE. The original founder of CMTE, Koen Jacobs (K.J.), started Crypto TE with his wife Karen. It was the first TE to use CMTE for rewards, and the original intention was actually to close it down once the 5 million CMTE allocated for rewards had been used up.

But it turned out to be a really good TE in its own right, and it would have been such a waste to shut it down. So I offered to help with admin and keep it online. That was back in February. More recently, I acquired the domain and moved the site onto my own hosting.

The thing is, the whole CMTE system on Crypto TE works quite differently. Upgrading with your accumulated CMTE is currently a manual process. Members select that option in their profiles, and when they've earned enough, an admin has to process the upgrade. The trouble is, it's not always easy to catch when someone actually reaches the required amount.

Ideally, I'd like to change that so members can either move their CMTE into their Piggy Banks at a dollar value determined by the current market price or simply press a button to upgrade themselves once they've earned enough. I just need to find the time to program something like that.

And another thing about Crypto TE. K.J. is quite a serious fellow when it comes to traffic quality. For example, I absolutely wouldn't be able to lower the upgraded surfing timer any further than it currently is or add too many games and distractions. It's really meant to be a fairly straightforward traffic exchange, and I've probably already pushed the boundaries a little.

TEO is quite different. Here, the focus is much more on community, participation, rewards and all the other things we're building together. So I wouldn't necessarily say one upgrade is better than the other. They serve different purposes, and it really depends on what you want from each.

But if you decide you'd rather use your CMTE here, you'll soon be able to transfer it directly from Crypto TE to your TEO Piggy Bank. The market rate at the time will determine its dollar value. And since a Crypto TE upgrade is $6 and a TEO upgrade is $5, the amount you've almost accumulated there might already be enough for an upgrade here.

The nice thing about the Piggy Bank is how flexible it is. Apart from the planned CMTE transfers and Kasware deposits, members can already transfer Piggy Bank funds from my other sites.

I also give away Piggy Bank funds quite liberally through prizes, Surfer Rewards and other promotions. Even cash prizes and commissions can be converted into Piggy Bank funds. So someone could put together the amount needed for an upgrade from rewards earned across all three of my sites, as well as CMTE. And if you're collecting Food Game Gold, there's a way to fund it with that too.

And I totally understand where you're coming from about not wanting to pay with cash. It can be expensive, particularly when currency conversions are involved. And if someone is active across the sites, it often isn't necessary either. That's one of the reasons I give away Piggy Bank funds and CMTE in the first place.

Of course, from an admin's perspective, I do appreciate cash purchases from members who prefer that option, because those help pay the expenses and commissions that keep everything running. But traffic exchanges as you know are like that. Your activity and time are as valuable to me, or perhaps even more than money spent in the sites.

Anyway, that's basically how I see the whole ecosystem working. Different websites, different activities and different rewards, all contributing towards something that members can actually use.

Thank you for helping me think and if anything else comes to mind, please don't hold back 😊

Even if nobody else joins the conversation, your opinions and insights are incredibly helpful, thank you, Bill! I'd love to hear more, though I don't want to take up too much of your valuable time. I'm definitely all ears 🙂

You've identified one of my pet peeves. I firmly believe there should be a clear distinction between withdrawable cash and funds that can only be spent onsite. The Piggy Bank mod wasn't always around, but even so, something similar can quite easily be programmed into a site. In my opinion, no reward should be called "cash" if it can't actually be withdrawn. It's really that simple. If an owner isn't paying cash for something, they shouldn't be calling it cash.

I think I know which sites you're referring to, because I also have lifetime upgrades in sites like those, taken out years ago when they were still paying actual cash for rewards. But yes, beyond that, the Piggy Bank can be a very useful way of bringing all those little bits and pieces together, as you mentioned.

I also very much agree with what you've said about the text on Crypto TE. It's not my text at all, and certainly not what I would have written. The same goes for some of the promotional material. I understand that hype has its place in this industry, but it's never really been me.

I've been reluctant to make changes, though, mainly because I had no hand in the original design of the site, and I still have co-ownership rather than full ownership, under an agreement that I have every intention of honouring. So I've been a little hesitant to start changing things that were there long before I came along.

But that mismatch between the site's messaging and my own feelings has been hovering over my head for months now. 🙂 Maybe it really is time to start addressing it, slowly but surely.

Thanks again, Bill. I appreciate you very much ❤️

I trade CMTE on Metaflow and Kaspa.com. Additionally, i used it for an upgrade on one of the sites, i cannot recall. It saved me a ton of $$.

i am not going to look for wallets , i am to old to start more things online esspecially when i dont know how it works

for me it still is everyone can make a site that earns crypto but they need to have the opportunity that members can get paid in normall ways like wise, paypal ect...., the choise is better then now no choise

Accumulated 16100 CMTE in my Kasware wallet during earlier stage of Crypto TE where we were given them for surfing and being active. That was over a year ago, I guess. I tried to exchange it in Kaspa marketplace but I need some Kas coin which I am reluctant to fund it due to my CMTE is small amount. Now that 16100 + 18100 CMTEs (in Crypto TE) = 34200 and I do not know what to do with it. I saw in Crypto TE there is mentioning about Piggy Bank so may be I will look into it later if it is possible to transfer to it
8+ years, Winvest is paying 3% daily bitcoin profit for 12 million plus members. Withdrawal processed in 24 hours

Hi MohdNizar 😊 I have a reserve of KAS exactly for the reason to help members out with transacting. I've already given out quite a lot. I'm going to send some to you at the same wallet you have at Crypto TE. Will be a little later today when I do the payouts there. 6 KAS is enough to keep you transacting for a long time. Not that you need to use it right away. It will be yours to keep for anytime you need it ❤️
